PEFC
PEFC is a global umbrella organisation for the assessment and mutual recognition of national forest certification schemes developed in a
multi-stakeholder process. These national schemes build upon the inter-governmental process for the promotion of sustainable forest
management, a series of ongoing mechanisms supported by 149 governments in the world covering 85% of the world’s forest area.
(see www.pefc.org for more information)

FSC
FSC is an international network to promote responsible management of the world’s forests. FSC brings people together to find solutions
to the problems created by bad forestry practices and to reward good forest management. FSC policies and standards aim to make the greatest possible contribution to forest stewardship worldwide. FSC works to be recognised as the global centre of excellence in the development of international standards for forest certification.

Cool Earth
The only way to halt destruction is to align the future of the rainforest with the people best placed to protect it. This means placing forest in the
hands of the people who rely on its survival for their survival. Cool Earth does just that.

Recycled
Many products nowadays are made from 100% recycled product; in other instances, that is simply not possible, currently. Look out for the logo
highlighting the percentage of recycled content that is used to produce the product – we only tend to use this logo if it is over 50% recycled, other
products may still contain recycled material.

Blue Angel
The Blue Angel can be awarded only to those products that distinguish themselves by greater environmental friendliness than other products
serving the same purpose.

Fairtrade
Fairtrade is a strategy for poverty alleviation and sustainable development. Its purpose is to create opportunities for producers and workers who have
been economically disadvantaged or marginalized by the conventional trading system. If fair access to markets under better trade conditions
would help them to overcome barriers to development, they can join Fairtrade. Fairtrade is a tool for development that ensures disadvantaged
farmers and workers in developing countries get a better deal through the use of the international FAIRTRADE Mark.

Rainforest Alliance
The Rainforest Alliance has a worldwide reputation for being an enlightened, independent organisation which has a rigorous certification
process, which covers social, economic and environmental factors. These include water conservation, wildlife protection, fair treatment and good
working conditions for workers, soil management and conservation. (see www.rainforest-alliance.org for more information)

EU Ecolabel
The EU eco-label proves that the paper production has a lower impact, including the selection of raw material and manufacturing.
To be awarded the EU eco-label the production process must meet strict criteria for use of natural resources and chemicals, energy consumption,
emissions to air and water and for waste management. It also requires that the paper contains fibre from sustainably managed forests.

CarbonNeutral
The CarbonNeutral Company registered the CarbonNeutral® trademark in the 1990s. It is awarded to a product, service or activity that has
completed a process laid out in the CarbonNeutral Protocol, and using the parameters of the specific CarbonNeutral brand mark to
be applied. Whenever you see the CarbonNeutral logo, you know that the company is taking seriously its response to climate change.
